Meet Matt & Kalea
Dear
Birthmom,
We are
Matt and Kalea, hopeful adoptive parents. As we think of and pray for
our future family, we also think of and pray for you. Although we don’t
yet know you, the love and respect we have for you is great. We firmly
believe that your precious child is a wonderful and blessed gift. While
we cannot have children of our own, our hearts spill over with joy at
the thought of having the family we always dreamed we would. Thank you
for the opportunity to show you how loved and treasured your child will
be in our family.
We met
in 2004 at The University of North Texas where we both later graduated.
Matt’s blue eyes and goofy smile sent me swooning. My persistent, caring
nature and awesome moves on the dance floor melted Matt immediately. It
was love at first sight. Matt is a Mesquite, Texas police officer and
enjoys the challenges and rewards of serving that community, keeping it
safe. I am a nurse at a wonderful faith-based psychiatric clinic in
North Dallas, working with hurting people on a personal level and
helping them cope with life’s struggles. After 3½ years of unsuccessful
infertility treatments and broken hearts, we heard God’s call to adopt.
By His grace and the incredible support of friends and family, we’ve
grown much closer to each other, our faith and marriage have been
strengthened, and our hearts softened. These experiences have really
humbled us for the next leg of our adventure together as a family.
Home is
McKinney, Texas, just North of Dallas, and we love our neighborhood.
Nationally rated schools are just around the corner, and our neighbors
and their kiddos are more than that; they are great friends we have a
lot of fun with. Supportive and encouraging, our neighborhood and
biological families can’t wait to welcome a new child into our home. We
attend First Baptist Church of McKinney where we have many friends and
meet regularly with other couples for a wonderful bible study. We also
enjoy working with the youth program, cooking for and connecting with
kids at Disciple Now every year. We also volunteer for multiple food
drives throughout the year, serving the hungry in our city.
Family
and friends are very important to us, and we enjoy spending as much time
with them as possible for birthdays, holidays, vacations, and meals. We
like to go to Dallas Stars hockey games and vacation in Galveston, Texas
with Matt’s family. With aunts, uncles and cousins, we hang out at the
family beach house swimming, playing games, fishing and cooking out.
When Matt and I are home we like to work in the yard together, exercise,
and spoil our three cats Silvee, Jasper and Emma. We also love to
travel! We take yearly vacations, and Disney World is our favorite.
We’re kids at heart; what can we say? Matt looks great in Mickey Mouse
ears. Our faith, friends and family are most important to us. We are
truly blessed with the loving people surrounding us, and we know a child
will experience the same love and devotion.
We
aren’t perfect. We have struggles like everyone else. However, we know
we will welcome and adore a child in a nurturing, safe, warm, and loving
home and give that child all the opportunities and love he or she could
ever hope for. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, whatever your
decision. You both may only be a dream to us now, but you are already
part of our hearts and our family.
