Meet James &
Sallie

Thank you for choosing life, and thank
you for choosing adoption. Without selfless people like yourself, people
like us would never have families!
ADOPTION
Adoption, first and foremost, is about
LOVE. The love of a birthmother wanting to give her child a better life,
and the love of an adoptive family who could not had this family without
her. We have been waiting for a child for 7 years now, and we believe
God has a plan.
How I met James:
I didn’t think it was possible, but I fall more in love with James every
single day. I met James when I was in my 20’s and working in Irving. I
had somehow decided that I would be single the rest of my life, since
things never seemed to work out for me. Happy endings only happen in the
movies, right?
We met in a church group, but things
didn’t really take off until the night of the dance. The “cute boy”
actually sat next to me at my table and talked to me all night! But by
the end of the night he asked for my number, and we began dating. My
luck had finally changed!
How did I know James was the one? He is
the most kind and giving man I have ever met. He is also hilarious. If
James is not giving me a hard time, then I know something is wrong!
James is the king of “one-liners”. I also knew he was the one because
everywhere we went, I would hear someone yell , “JAAAAAMMMEESSS!”.
Someone always knew James, or had a funny story about him. He grew up in
the area and went to a private Catholic school. Today James is a school
counselor who has an amazing gift with children. He also has a loud and
loving family (his mom is British, his dad is Cajun) who has embraced me
and loved me from day one.
I am still totally and completely in
love with this man. James makes me laugh so hard I sometimes cry, and I
cannot imagine my life without him.
How I met Sallie:
I had just moved from Dallas to
Lewisville for work when I joined a new church, as well as the church
singles group. I was living in a tiny apartment, eating really bad fast
food, and trying to figure out where my life was going next.
I had seen this petite girl in bible
study, but never really talked to her until we had a church mixer. She
looked so sweet, and I knew I had to dance with her. My life has never
been the same since.
Sallie is an amazing wife. She has the
ability to connect with you and make you feel like you are the only
person in the room. Not only does Sallie love children, but children
love Sallie.
I didn’t think it was possible to love
someone so much. When my family and friends see us together, they tell
me that they have never seen me so happy. So today, I am still totally
in love with the “girl” from the dance.
WHY WE ARE ADOPTING
Everyone has a "story" to tell. While unable to get pregnant, we
actually did become licensed foster parents. We had a foster son from
birth to 16 months old who we hoped to adopt. He was born with Meth in
his system, and when we got him, he screamed for about 3 months
straight. We worked with him day and night to get him healthy. But
unfortunately the system returned him to his birth father when he was 16
months old, and then the birth father gave the child away. When he left
us, he was beautiful, healthy, and happy!
There is no doubt in my heart that we
will appreciate the opportunity to be parents again, like no one else
could. While at the same time, we understand what a huge sacrifice this
is for you!
We believe that parenting a child is one
of the greatest gifts we could ever be given. We live in a great
neighborhood, with great schools, we love to travel, and we have an
amazing extended family who has supported us every step of the way! We
look forward to meeting you!
Love,
James and Sallie
