Meet Danny & Mendy

Hello! We are Danny, Mendy, and Jana. We can not even begin to wrap our minds around all the emotions that must be flooding through your heart right now as you read this letter. We have been praying for you and your sweet baby. Our prayer is that God would give you more peace, wisdom and courage than you have ever experienced as you make this difficult decision.

Who we are...

Danny and I have been married for almost 6 years. We still get really excited to see each other at the end of the day. We talk all the time about how blessed we are to have such a solid marriage. We lost four pregnancies before God revealed His plan to build our family through adoption. We both still vividly remember the first time that we saw our daughter, Jana, through the hospital window. We both knew that God’s plan for us to adopt was far better than anything that we could have ever imagined. Jana has a courageous and loving birth family that we love dearly.

About Jana...

Jana is beautiful, healthy, independent, extremely friendly and almost 3 years old! She has blessed our lives with more joy than we ever thought possible. When we talk about bringing a new baby into her house she gets very excited and says, “ahhh... babies cry. I’ll hug it!” Jana will be a great big sister! Being parents is truly our greatest joy and life’s work!

What we do...

We both love kids! We have been investing in children long before we became parents. Danny has a Bachelor of Arts degree and is certified to teach grades 1-8 and all level art. He loves teaching students about the world of art but, most of all he enjoys being in the school setting so he can be a positive role model to young people. In his current job, he teaches first graders through seniors in high school!
I am a stay at home mom and love spending my days taking care of Jana and our home! My days are spent cleaning the house, cooking supper, running errands, taking Jana on play dates and if I am lucky grabbing a few minutes at the fitness center. Before Jana came along, I had a great career as a licensed social worker. I was an administrator of a maternity home at one point. It is while working there that I developed a deep love for birth moms and the adoption process. However, the bulk of my years, were spent working as a social worker for a children's home.

As a family...

We enjoy spending time with friends, going to Memaw and Pawpaw’s house and playing in the river, eating out, camping, doing stuff at church, taking Jana to the playground, going to events at Danny’s school, shopping, watching movies, going to the gym, and just hanging out at home in the backyard with our dog Maggie. We take great pride in our home and spending time with each other! We live in a historical neighborhood with an elementary school across the street. Our house has a big picture window and a large front porch where we can watch the kids play on the playground. A lot of people describe our home as cozy, welcoming, and creatively decorated.
