Meet Alan &
Heather

Dear
Birthmother,
Thank you
for reading our letter and thank you for having the love and courage to
consider an adoption plan. You have our utmost respect and admiration.
It’s hard to express everything we want to say in one letter, knowing
you could be a part of our family for the rest of our lives.
Our names
are Heather and Alan and we will celebrate our ten year wedding
anniversary in 2010. We were blessed with a son through adoption three
years ago after our struggle with infertility, and would really like to
complete our family with another child. We live in a nice three bedroom
house in a suburban neighborhood near parks and good schools. We have a
nice backyard for kids and our Cocker Spaniel.
Heather has
been a stay-at-home mom since the day we brought our son Jack home. Her
previous career as a teacher, has allowed her to come up with all sorts
of creative activities for Jack and she throws herself enthusiastically
into parenting. Heather sings, dances, makes up stories, plays games,
reads books with great voices, and comes up with fun ideas for playdates
and outings. As a couple, we enjoy attending sporting events, movies and
amusement parks.
Alan loves
to have fun with the kids. He has a good job as a real estate financial
analyst for Raytheon and he always makes spending time with his family a
top priority. Alan enjoys being the first adult to jump right into a
kids’ activity, whether it’s playing T-ball, sitting at the little kid’s
table or offering to hold his cousin’s baby while the parents eat.
Jack can’t
wait to be a big brother and asks regularly when his baby brother or
sister is coming. He gave his crib to his future sibling for Christmas
and loves to pick out which of his outgrown clothes he thinks the baby
will like. He is gentle with babies, loves to pat and comfort crying
children, and is learning to share well.
Both sets
of the baby’s future grandparents are overjoyed at the prospect of a
second grandchild. Alan’s parents are waiting to fly from Florida to
meet the baby as soon as he or she comes. Alan’s mother is from Peru and
Alan’s family speaks Spanish, so we look forward to raising our children
to know two languages, cultures and traditions. Heather’s parents
consider themselves fortunate enough to be retired and live nearby, so
they can’t wait to spoil another child on a regular basis. Both Alan’s
brother Justin and Heather’s sister Gretchen are very musical and love
playing with kids.
Our family
began as a couple very much in love. We were thrilled with the addition
of our son though adoption. Now we pray daily for you and thank you from
the bottom of our hearts for considering a decision to help make us a
family of four. We pledge to you that we will always love each other and
both our children with all of our hearts.
Sincerely,
Alan & Heather
