Adoptive
ParentsGenerations
Adoptions places newborns with married couples.
Occasionally a
birthparent will choose to place an older child for adoption.
Types of Adoption Plans
We work with birthmoms as they make a
plan for their child’s future. When the birthmom chooses adoption,
she is offered the opportunity to view profiles of approved and
waiting families. She chooses the family and the staff at Generations
help facilitate the meeting when they can meet and get to know one
another. Once chosen, birthmoms and
adoptive parents together determine the details of their own adoptive
plan, facilitated by their caseworker.
Open and Semi-Open Agreements
Prospective adoptive
parents may choose from either semi-open or open adoption. This will be

Embryo Adoption
When a family has been successful in having a child
through In Vitro Fertilization, there are often remaining embryos that
were not used. These embryos are frozen and stored. Questions remain for
the families who are no longer planning to use the embryos to build
their family, but struggle with what to do with the frozen embryos.
The
Snowflakes Embryo Adoption Program allows couples who have
frozen embryos in storage to agree to release the embryos for transfer
to an adoptive couple. The transfer of the embryos into the womb of the
adoptive mother takes place with the intent that she and her husband may
carry the child, give birth to the child, and be that child's parents.
The genetic family relinquishes the embryos for adoption and
implantation in the adoptive mother.
For families who long to be parents, and
have been unable to conceive, embryo adoption may be an answer.
Prospective adoptive moms must be physically able to carry a child to
term as determined by her physician. Couples who are unable to become
parents through the traditional IVF treatments may find themselves
candidates for embryo adoption.
If you would like to discuss the
possibility of embryo adoption for your family, please contact
Laura Jackson at
Generations Adoptions, or visit the following website of one of our NCAF
partner agencies – Nightlight Christian Adoptions:

Transitional Care Families
Newborns may be able to go home directly
with the adoptive family.
However, on a few
occasions the newborn will go to one of Generations Adoptions’ licensed
and loving Transitional Care families.
Stays may vary from 2 days – 2 months depending upon the legal situation
of the child.
